Modern Living Furnishings
Modern Living Furnishings is owned by Evan and Norma Gerstein.
Evan was born and raised in the Interior Design, Furniture Retail and Design Community of Miami, Florida. Evan’s Father Richard and Mother Merle have been Licensed Interior Designers in Florida since 1976.
Norma is Mexican, and she was born in Monterrey, Mexico. Monterrey has a population of over 5 million people and is the closest major metropolis to the United States. Her parents opened their First furniture store in 1969. Her father was a CPA and a very talented Furniture Designer; she was the influence behind the designs and manufacturing of the furniture and accessories. Her mother was the interior designer. To this day, there are hundreds of homes filled with their custom furniture.
Norma and Evan met in Guadalajara, Mexico, at a Furniture show where his dad Richard Gerstein was displaying his Decorative Accessory Line. Evan had Recently graduated from Florida State University, studying International Marketing and Spanish. This man struggled to speak the best Spanish he could for Norma and in turn he stole her heart. Even after 20 years, Norma sees the bright, hard working, and loving man I fell in love with all those years ago.
Living Modern Furnishings & Design is open to the public, Retail showroom, located in the very vibrant and hip area of South Dallas called Uptown/Oak Lawn.
They will offer home Furnishings, Accessories, Lighting, Rugs and Artwork as well as a full-service design studio.
Laura Lee Clark Interior Design
Interior Designer Laura Lee Clark Falconer understands that a truly successful design blends a collection of high-quality pieces from various periods and styles, while also using tasteful restraint. “Laura likes to create unexpected combinations of finishes, fabrics, and custom-designed furnishings while integrating antique elements, all the while striving for a sophisticated look.”

Recently her work has been published in “Inspirations from France and Italy” and “The French Room”, both by Betty Lou Phillips.

Founded in 1951, Ellouise Abbott is Texas’ and the nation’s oldest continually operating decorative showroom. Founder Ellouise Abbott was a pioneering businesswoman and tastemaker, bringing never before available lines to Texas, most notably, famed Italian Fortuny fabrics and lighting. Ellouise Abbott has been the exclusive purveyor ever since. Betsie Weatherford purchased the Houston showroom in 1994 and opened the first Dallas location in 2005. The Dallas showroom relocated in late 2015 to new larger premises in the Dallas Design Center.
